Jonathan Weirich

Jonathan M. Weirich is a partner with Yarnell & Peterson, PA, and practices primarily Commercial and Construction Litigation. He has worked extensively in cases involving complex commercial transactions, derivative suits, construction defects, and asset protection.  Mr. Weirich has served as lead counsel in several civil trials, and served as defense co-counsel in a multi-million dollar bank fraud trial, in which he and his partner were able to secure a bench decision completely exonerating their clients from wrongdoing and civil liability.

In addition to his trial work, he has served as lead appellate counsel on numerous appeals in both state and federal courts of appeal, and has presented oral argument in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the Florida Second District Court of Appeals.  

During Law School, Mr. Weirich served as Editor-in-Chief of the Ave Maria Law Review, volume 13, where he published a two part edition commemorating the life and writings of Judge Robert H. Bork, and a symposium on family law, in a joint effort with Brigham Young University’s Journal of Law and Public Policy.

During this time he also interned for the Honorable Sheri Polster Chappell, of the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida, where he assisted in research, sentencing, and drafting orders, including one of first impression involving interpretation of the Uniform Commercial Code and negotiable instruments.

He earned his J.D., magna cum laude, in 2015 from Ave Maria School of Law, and his B.S., cum laude, from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2011.

He is admitted to practice in the State of Florida, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the Middle, Northern, and Southern Districts of Florida Federal Courts.
